Backends that stay fast, secure and reliable as you grow.
We architect and build the systems behind your product: APIs, authentication, payments, real-time features and data pipelines, designed for reliability under real-world load.
The problem. Our approach.
Backend problems tend to hide until they hurt: a slow query that only shows up at peak hours, a webhook that drops payments, an auth shortcut that becomes a security issue. By then they are expensive to fix and they affect every part of the product.
We start with the data model and the failure cases, because those decide almost everything else. We design clear API contracts, use queues and caching where the load calls for it, and keep the architecture as simple as your scale allows.
A well-built backend is boring in the best way. It has tests around the critical paths, logs and metrics that explain what happened, and documentation good enough that a new engineer can make a safe change in their first week.
Ideal for
- Startups that need a solid backend behind a new product
- Teams whose current backend slows down or fails under load
- Businesses connecting POS, apps, partners and payment providers
- Companies inheriting a codebase nobody fully understands
REST & GraphQL APIs
Well-documented, versioned APIs with authentication, rate limiting and validation.
Payments & integrations
Payment gateways, webhooks and third-party integrations that just work.
Real-time systems
Live tracking, notifications and dashboards with WebSockets and event streams.
Scalable architecture
Queues, caching and event-driven design (Kafka, Redis) for high-traffic workloads.
Where it makes an impact.
- SaaS and multi-tenant platforms
- Order, booking and inventory systems
- Data sync across POS, apps and partners
- Scaling an existing backend that's struggling
What you get
- 01System architecture & data model
- 02Production APIs with docs
- 03Auth, roles and security hardening
- 04Caching, queues and background jobs
- 05Load testing and observability
Tech we use
From first call to production.
A new backend for a product usually takes 6–12 weeks, while a review and stabilisation of an existing system often starts showing results within 2–4 weeks.
Model the domain
We work through your entities, workflows and integrations, and agree on the data model and API contracts before writing service code.
Design for failure
We plan how the system handles retries, duplicate events, slow third parties and traffic spikes, and choose queues, caching and storage to match.
Build & test
We build the services with automated tests on the critical paths, secure defaults and API documentation that stays in sync with the code.
Load test & launch
We run load tests, set up logging, metrics and alerts, and release with a rollback plan.
Outcomes
What changes for your team.
- 01
APIs that stay responsive as traffic and data grow
- 02
Payments, webhooks and integrations that handle edge cases correctly
- 03
Clear visibility into errors and performance in production
- 04
A codebase new engineers can understand and change safely

Backend & APIs FAQ
Can't find what you're looking for? Send us a message and we'll get back to you within one business day.
Can you take over an existing codebase?
Yes. We start with a code and architecture review, fix the riskiest issues first and improve the system incrementally.
How do you handle security?
Secure defaults throughout: validated inputs, least-privilege access, secrets management, dependency scanning and audit logging.
Microservices or a monolith?
Most products are better served by a well-structured monolith at first. We split out services when there is a clear reason, such as independent scaling or a separate team owning that part.
Which database should we use?
PostgreSQL is our default for most products because it handles relational data, JSON and search well. We pick something else when the workload clearly needs it.
Will you document the APIs?
Yes. APIs come with OpenAPI or GraphQL schema docs generated from the code, plus a short guide for the main flows and how to run the system locally.
Pair it with the rest of the stack.
